An Exclusive Auction! Congratulations to the winner of this auction, Susan Cadman of London, England! (See images below) Project Shakespeare, a spin-off of Project Children in Northern Ireland, began in 1993 when 12 regular kids growing up in tough neighborhoods in Belfast and their chaperons had a private meeting with Kenneth Branagh and attended a performance of the RSC HAMLET with special tickets he provided. Cindy Millen, the co-founder of Project Shakespeare, has provided the very special item we are offering for auction. The poster and memorabilia collage (pictured below) is 26 inches by 36 inches (66 X 91 cm), matted and framed with protective glass. The poster is the official RSC poster for the 12 December 1992 – 1 May 1993 production of HAMLET starring Kenneth Branagh. Other items included are: 1 British Rail ticket for May 1 1 RSC ticket for the May 1 evening performance of HAMLET 1 July 1992 letter from Tamar Thomas (Kenneth Branagh’s assistant) to Cindy Millen on Renaissance Theatre Company stationery 7/16/92 note from [THE] Gene Kelly "…give Mr. Branagh a "hello" from an American stranger who admires him." Signed by Gene Kelly (another patron of Project Children) a second letter from Tamar Thomas from Villa Vignamaggio (where MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING was filmed) mentioning their subsequent correspondence with Gene Kelly 1 clipping about the Project Shakespeare plans to travel to London, meet Kenneth Branagh and watch HAMLET in January (changed to May eventually) 1 clipping about the Project Shakespeare visit with quotes from 1 of the children in attendance a Project Shakespeare brochure All the money raised through this auction will go to Project Shakespeare.
